Our Teacher
Meet Jamie!
This is Jamie taking a class for our Group from his home ‘dojo’. Jamie kindly uses his own garden (weather permitting!) to present the class.
Jamie has been practising tai chi for 24 years, first at Long River Tai Chi and Autumn River Tai Chi schools, until he opened the south side branch of Autumn River- ‘Tai Chi Glasgow South’ in 2015. Jamie finally renamed his classes which became a fully independent school, Flowering Lotus Tai Chi, after Autumn River closed it’s doors in October 2021.
Jamie is a first-class experienced instructor who makes the sessions fun as well as informative. He tailors the content of the class to the experience of those attending and is always at pains to point out that everyone has to work within their own abilities. He demonstrates how to practice and how not to practise the moves and postures which really helps you to understand whether you are doing it right or not!
Having been running classes since lockdown, Jamie has adapted his teaching method to work on camera and has honed his demonstrations to perfection.
Jamie teaches Tai Chi Form, in the style of Chen Man-ching as well as Push Hands, Sword Form and Fencing at his School based in the Gateway Community Hall on Merrylee Road in Glasgow.
Visit Tai Chi Glasgow South if you would like to know more details about his other classes.
